The Museum

This museum of
75 Tractions at Artois Expo (Arras) is a world first for the well-justified
celebration of the 75th anniversary of this legendary car.
The
organisation of the “75 Hours for 75 Years” museum has been
entrusted to Traction Avant Nederland (“TAN” at
www.traction-avant.nl).
TAN has succeeded in the mammoth task of assembling Tractions
from each year of manufacture
of the car, that is from 1934 to 1957, with vehicles coming from
several European countries.
You will be
able to admire all versions of the Traction – saloons, rare
cabriolets and coupés, familiales and commerciales, special bodywork
– but also those produced in places less well-known than Javel:
Forest (Belgium)
or
Slough
(Great Britain), sometimes with individual trim (for the British
cars, for example, a wooden dashboard and opening roof).
“75 Hours for
75 Years” is particularly pleased to present some unique exhibits,
such as the 15/6 Traction owned personally by General de Gaulle,
kindly lent to us by Mémorial Charles de Gaulle
(Colombey-les-deux-Eglises), and which is only very occasionally
loaned. This car is still owned by General de Gaulle’s family
(Madame de Guitaut). Another unique exhibit you can admire is the
only “Big 6 Grand Luxe” (1940) in existence.
